Why a Christian Education?

Because all of creation is under the dominion of Christ, all aspects of education must likewise be subject to His sovereign authority.

Education rooted
in God's Word.

John Calvin School was established by the Free Reformed School Association (TAS) to provide Christian education to the children of the Free Reformed Church.

At the baptism of their children, parents promise to instruct their children in the true and complete doctrine of salvation as soon as they are able to understand, and to have them instructed therein to the utmost of their power.

John Calvin School is an extension of the Church and home, where children are equipped to be active and discerning servants of God, as one part of the fulfilment of the parents' promise.

All activities are founded on the Word of God, the Bible, as confessed in the Three Forms of Unity — the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and Canons of Dort.

The Baptismal Promise

"To instruct and have them instructed in the doctrine of salvation to the utmost of their power."

Three reasons to choose
a Reformed education.

Faith woven through everything

God's Word is not an extra subject — it is the lens through which every subject is taught, from maths to literature, science to history.

An extension of home and church

JCS exists to support parents and church in their God-given calling — reinforcing the same truths your children hear at home and in worship.

Equipping for a life of service

We don't just prepare students for further study. We equip them to be active and discerning servants of God in the church and the world.
