I offer You my heart, Lord, promptly and sincerely

Welcome to John Calvin School..

Welcome to the website of John Calvin School Launceston, Tasmania. By means of this medium the school aims to provide useful, up-to-date information about the school; its aim and the policies and practices designed to reach this aim.

The school was named after one of the most important leaders of the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, John Calvin. This name and also the school logo were chosen to reflect the Reformed, Christian character of the school. The words on the school logo read: “COR MEUM TIBI OFFERO DOMINE PROMPTE ET SINCERE.” Freely translated this means: “I offer You my heart, Lord, promptly and sincerely.”
Our school is a co-educational school from K-10 of 88 students. Grade 10 graduates usually move on and continue their education at one of the Colleges in Launceston (Launceston College or Newstead college) before attending University http://www.utas.edu.au/ or other Higher Education institution such as TAFE http://www.tafe.tas.edu.au/.

Tasmania is a beautiful island and a most remarkable example of God’s creative powers. We give thanks to Him for allowing us to live and work as school community in this wonderful environment.
Those who are interested in what our school has to offer, are encouraged to browse this website or to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
